Coloring vintage images and illustrations is easier than it looks. It’s certainly less difficult when you know a few tricks. These short video are designed to get you started and experimenting. You’ll see images depicting before “blender pencil” and after. You’ll see where and how to begin. You’ll notice coloring lightly is a technique used 100% of the time. Coloring lightly is advised for two reasons. You can always go darker and using the blender pencil on pigment will normally brighten up the color. In all our Vintage Vibes coloring books and pages, the shading has been done for you. All our sketches are shown in grayscale. Jodie recommends that you color over everything in the sketch, even the white areas using a white colored pencil or paint marker. It is amazing how coloring will cover up everything, which leaves you feeling like an artist.
